If you've been keeping up with my blogs ramblings, you'll probably have worked out that I am utterly besotted with Lottie our recently adopted Greyhound.

Since her adoption, her integration into our home has been amazingly seamless, with next to no hiccups that normally herald the arrival of a dog into ones life (aside from the odd bit of food thievery and the destruction of a roll of paper towels).

A lot of that has to do with the serene and calm nature of a Greyhound, they're quiet and remarkably self contained animals that are as happy sleeping all day as they are tearing up a race track at breakneck speeds.

Lottie (otherwise known as the brindle rocket) has already settled into a routine and has bonded with us incredibly quickly. In fact its pretty hard to remember life without her.

If you're thinking of getting a dog, getting the right breed for your lifestyle makes a huge difference and Greyhounds should definitely be on your list of potential forever home pets.

the adoption process is actually surprisingly easy - the Greyhounds as pets page (http://greyhoundsaspets.org.nz/) details the adoption process and has profiles of some really cute Greyhounds who'd love to have a home.

Don't just take my word for it however, check out what other Greyhound owners have to say
